Andy Priaulx was left disappointed by the latest rounds of the World Touring Car Championship at Brno, after an incident at the start of race one hit his hopes of victory in the Czech Republic.

The BMW Team UK driver had been on the pace throughout practice and qualified second on the grid behind fellow BMW driver Augusto Farfus, but the Guernseyman was then involved in drama at the start of race one when Farfus moved over in front of him and triggered a multi-car accident.

Priaulx dragged his car back to the pits on three-wheels, but the RBM-run team was able to get him back on track before the end of the race, allowing him to move up to 19th place on the grid for race one.

A storming drive through the pack allowed Priaulx to battle into the points in race two, but after a long battle with Gabriele Tarquini, Rickard Rydell and Jorg Muller, he had to settle for eighth and just a single point from a weekend that had promised more.

“This is not outcome of this weekend I had hoped for,” the former champion reflected. “Unfortunately I was involved in the first-corner accident in race one. My team did a sensational job in getting my car repaired even before the end of the race.

“In race two I was running behind Jörg Müller, obviously we had a good fight. But it was difficult to get past. It's a shame, as we lost some precious points again.”
