Volvo Cars is famed for its safety record with its road going models, but the company has also enjoyed success in motorsport throughout its existence.
The Swedish company made its motorsport debut back in 1928, just one year after the foundation of the company.
Since entering motorsport, Volvo Cars has won three European and two world rally titles as well as a European title on the race track and a European title in rally-cross.
The company also enjoyed years of success in the British Touring Car Championship and is famous for running the 850 Estate model in its first year in the series.
Leading up to this year's Swedish Touring Car Championship season with the C30, Volvo engineers have taken advantage of the new DrivE technology from standard cars, in order to reduce wind resistance and thereby increase speed.
