Augusto Farfus remained the man to beat at Brands Hatch after pacing the second World Touring Car Championship free practice session.

The BMW Team Germany driver, who topped the times in FP1, once again emerged at the head of the pack with a best time of 1min 33.864secs, putting him more than three-tenths of a second ahead of team-mate Jorg Muller in the sister Schnizter car.

The pair were followed on the times by Chevrolet due Nicola Larini and Alain Menu, while Andy Priaulx and Tom Coronel rounding out the top six – the latter posting the quickest time amongst the Independent runners in the process.

Rob Huff was seventh ahead of the first of the factory SEATs in the hands of Rickard Rydell, with Sergio Hernandez and Gabriele Tarquini completing the top ten.

Robert Dahlgren was quickest of the two Volvos in 13th place, while Jaap van Lagen was top of the three LADA drivers in 20th.
