Engine change forces Menu penalty

Alain Menu has been given a ten-place grid penalty for the latest round of the World Touring Car Championship at Imola after being forced to change his engine.

Although Menu scraped into the top ten shootout during qualifying, he was unable to take any further part after developing an engine problem on his Chevrolet Cruze directly after the session.

The subsequent change sees him drop to 20th position on the grid and allows Sergio Hernandez up onto the fifth row as a result.
