SEAT team boss Jaime Puig has admitted it would be an 'outstanding success' if his team could secure both World Touring Car Championship titles in Macau this weekend.

Gabriele Tarquini goes into the weekend leading the drivers' championship from SEAT team-mate Yvan Muller, while BMW driver Augusto Farfus is also in contention for the crown – albeit 13 points off Tarquini with just 20 points to play for. SEAT meanwhile lead BMW by just three points in the race for the manufacturers' championship with a maximum of 36 points available.

Despite securing both titles last year, SEAT has yet to taste victory in the Chinese enclave in the past but Puig admitted the aim for firmly on winning in Macau to wrap up the titles.

“We have never won at Macau, so this is the best opportunity to do so for the first time,” he said. “In such a close-run championship as this one, with ten cars all within a second of each other, winning one title is a great achievement in itself. But the full team will put go all out to win the two, and in view of the rule changes brought in during the year, that would be an absolutely outstanding result.

“I am convinced that teamwork will enable Gabriele Tarquini and Yvan Muller to strengthen their positions against Augusto Farfus in order to carry off the drivers' title.”
