'Nothing fixed yet' for Muller

19 January 2013

Former Chevrolet factory driver Yvan Muller has said his plans for 2013 remain clouded in uncertainty.

2012 saw Chevrolet's last season as a factory run team in the FIA World Touring Car Championship and with all three of its drivers finishing in the top three positions in the championship (Muller was third), it might have been thought that they would be a shoe-in for top drives again for 2013 - this is however, not the case.

Speedmagazine.de has reported that while Muller would 'like to be on the WTCC grid with RML' (Ray Mallock Limited) at the moment 'no deal is fixed yet'. His former Chevrolet team-mates, Alain Menu and Rob Huff are believed to be in a similar situation.

Muller meanwhile also went on to add that the DTM might present him with the opportunity to continue racing in touring cars, although currently there were 'no serious proposals' on the table and that ultimately it would be a 'big surprise' if he ended up there.

The triple World Touring Car champion has made clear though, that no matter what series he races in, he wants to be a big part of the programme and to go 'not only to drive' as he is looking for an 'interesting project'.
