Lada will kick-off their 2013 FIA World Touring Car Championship testing programme at Magny-Cours next month, it has been announced.

The Russian car, which is factory entered, will turn its wheels for the first time at the fast, challenging track in France, with James Thompson and Aleksei Dudukalo sharing driving duties, Thompson having tested and raced the Lada Granta Sport throughout last year in preparation for a full campaign this season.

According to the Lada Sport Lukoil cars where completed in January. The upcoming test will enable further fine-tuning and development of the engine as well as addressing car set-up and evaluating aerodynamic properties.

Lada are the second manufacturer to announce testing plans. Honda last week began their programme at Valencia, completing 800 kilometres with Gabrielle Tarquini and Tiago Monteiro sharing a Civic. The Japanese marque will continue with their schedule in the second week of February at the Motorland Aragón Circuit in Spain.
