Menu: No offers for 2013

28 January 2013

With the first round of the FIA World Touring Car Championship now less than two months away, former factory Chevrolet driver, Alain Menu, has said he has received no meaningful offers for 2013.

The 23-time race winner, told turaauto.hu that offers for this season are 'virtually non-existent' and that the remaining seats available are for 'pay drivers'.

The soon-to-be 50-year-old and former two-time BTCC champion was reported to be in contention for the Team Aon Ford Focus drive, but that project has recently stalled and faces uncertainty, and talks with South American touring car teams in Argentina (TC2000), has also proved fruitless. Another lifeline for the Swiss-ace is a possible testing role with a future incoming manufacturer to the series, but this is unconfirmed.

Menu meanwhile also mentioned that the prospects for his 2010-2012 team-mates, Rob Huff and Yvan Muller, seem to be 'a little brighter' and they look set to stay with RML (Ray Mallock Limited) in a self-funded two car Chevrolet Cruze team.
