Munnich Motorsport began pre-season testing on Wednesday in Spain at the Circuito de Navarra, Los Arcos.
The test was hampered by rain, but that did not stop the German team, which is new to the FIA World Touring Car Championship, from getting used to the SEAT Leons it will campaign in 2013.
Team boss Rene Munnich took the wheel of the Spanish car for the second time, the German having participated at the WTCC Suzuka races last year.
“It was interesting, as the intensity of the rain changed during the day and this gave us the opportunity to try different set up solutions for the wet,” he told the official WTCC site. “However, it was tough to handle the power and grip. We really hope to have a better weather on Thursday.”
Team-mate Marc Basseng meanwhile also tested the car for the first time and he echoed Rene's comments.
“I was very cautious in the first laps, because I wanted to get used on how to work with the throttle,” he added. “But as far as the test went on, I felt more and more comfortable. The car is edgy, but reacts very well to set up changes. I can't wait to see how it behaves in the dry.”
Testing for the German outfit now continues today [Thursday].
