Wiechers Sport confirms return

Wiechers Sport to return to the World Touring Car Championship again for the 2013 season
The Wiechers Sport team has confirmed that it will return to the World Touring Car Championship this season.

The team, which carried Stefano D'Aste to victory in Austria and Japan and seventh in the championship last year, will field a modified version of the BMW 320 TC that it has run for the past two seasons.

No drivers have yet been revealed, with an announcement due in the second week of March prior to the season opener at Monza.

“Ahead of us is an exciting, and hopefully successful, season,” team manager Dominik Greiner said. “Over the winter, we were able to work together with BMW Motorsport to continue developing the BMW 320 TC in certain areas. Before the start of the season we have some testing to carry out so that the team and drivers are well prepared for the start of the new season.”

Wiechers Sport become the fourth BMW team to confirm its entry for 2013 after ROAL Motorsport, Liqui Moly Team Engstler and Proteam.
