French squad evaluates WTCC programme
The ANOME team has announced that it will take part in the opening round of the new World Touring Car Championship at Monza later this month, with the possibility that the outing could lead to a full season campaign.

The team has purchased a BMW 320TC from Zengo Motorsport – pictured – which will be driven at Monza by experienced French racer Jean-Philippe Dayraut.

Dayraut, a multiple winner of the Andros Trophy and a former French Supertourisme champion, has already tested the new car at Nogaro and is set for a further outing at Monza this week in preparation for the first meeting of the season.

“We are really committed to put together this programme, and we hope to achieve a good result at Monza in order to secure our participation in the full season,” team manager Nicolas Boillot said. “We are aware that this is a great challenge and there is a lot to do, but we have strong motivations because this programme would mark a significant step forward for our team.

“To be part of a top-level International series like WTCC was something we had dreamed for long time, and now we see that the dream may actually come true.”
