Tarquini, Dudukalo handed penalties

Gabriele Tarquini and Aleksei Dudukalo given five place grid penalties for Monza qualifying incidents
Gabriele Tarquini and Aleksei Dudukalo have both been hit with grid penalties for their part in accidents that occurred during qualifying for the opening round of the new World Touring Car Championship season at Monza.

Tarquini was penalised for an incident in the final moments of Q1 when he tagged the rear of Rene Munnich's SEAT on the exit of the Parabolica, with the German driver being tipped into a spin as a result.

The five place penalty handed out to the Honda driver for the incident will see him drop to tenth on the grid for the opening race of the weekend.

Dudukalo meanwhile was penalised for the incident that saw him completely miss his braking point going into turn one and t-bone the car of LADA team-mate James Thompson.

The Russian driver had been left down in 16th spot as a result of the damage his car sustained in the accident, with the penalty seeing him drop down to 21st spot.
