Hugo Valente is preparing himself for the start of his 2013 World Touring Car Championship campaign, with Campos Racing having announced that the young Frenchman is set to debut at the Hungaroring circuit in Budapest at the fourth round of this year's championship.
The current French SEAT Leon Supercopa champ will take the wheel of a SEAT Leon 1.6T, similar to the car he raced at Shanghai last year in a 'one-off' appearance toward the end of last season with SUNRED engineering.
"I'm excited to race in WTCC again after last year," said the Parisian, who added, "I'm very much looking forward to getting to know the series more in Budapest, as well as in five other events this year."
Valente, who is a relative novice at this level, knows what his goals are for this and future seasons and is looking forward to getting to grips with the series.
"My goal is to gain as much experience as I can with the car, tyres and circuits, in order to prepare for the 2014 season in the best possible way," he confirmed.
The Campos Racing driver, who has had limited running in the car, is expecting a 'tough' opener to his 2013 account but wants to challenge his fellow SEAT drivers.
"I've only had two testing days before Budapest, so I am expecting tough races," he concluded, "My goal is to improve compared to my team-mates Pepe Oriola and Fernando Monje."
