Zengo Motorsport found themselves back on the podium at Sonoma, courtesy of a third place in race two at the FIA WTCC Race of America by Norbert Michelisz.

The Hungarian team qualified well in seventh, but found themselves at the back of the grid for race one after an engine changed saw them issued with a penalty.

Race one yielded 20th, but starting fourth in race two meant that 'Norbi' could challenge for a podium, which is exactly what the Honda Hungary funded driver did.

"Unfortunately we lost the chance to fight for a podium and useful points in the first race because of an engine change," he said. "From fourth in race two, I managed to get a good start and overtook Rob Huff on the second lap.

"I built a gap ahead of the cars behind and I was maintaining the pressure on Mehdi Bennani - we the same speed, but Muller was closing the gap. In the end, my target was just to keep third and the gap from Bennani opened up."

Michelisz heads to Suzuka in seventh place in the championship on 126 points and will be looking to challenge for an overall top six placing.
