Former GP2 racer Hiroki Yoshimoto has been named as Michel Nykjaer's replacement at NIKA Racing for two of the remaining three rounds of the World Touring Car Championship.

The 33-year-old Japanese driver - now competing in the Super Taikyu Series in his homeland - will drive the team's Chevrolet Cruze at Suzuka and at Macau. A calendar clash will prevent him from racing in Shanghai, where another driver is set to drive the Cruze.

Yoshimoto is no secret to the WTCC having raced in his home round in a SEAT Leon for the past two seasons, taking a best finish of 16th in race one last year.
