Organisers of the World Touring Car Championship have announced that the Volvo Polestar Racing team will not be able to score points in the next round of the World Touring Car Championship in China.

The team will return to the series in a one-off outing in Shanghai, with Thed Bjork at the wheel of the C30 Drive previously raced in the championship by Robert Dahlgren.

While the car was eligible to score back in 2011, the same dispensation hasn't been granted for the Chinese weekend, with the car running under its national homologation.

While cars running to the rules of national championships can be accepted into the series, Bjork will now be unable to score and will also be unable to start higher than 13th, with the car not eligible to take part in the second phase of qualifying.

Bjork will also carry 20 kilos of ballast throughout the weekend.
