LADA outlines testing plans

Mikhail Kozlovskiy reveals that LADA is hoping to start testing its new car next month ahead of the 2014 WTCC season opener
With less than three months to go until the latest generation of WTCC cars compete together for the first time, LADA has outlined its testing program for their upgraded Granta Sport.

Mikhail Kozlovskiy, who will drive one of three TC1 Granta Sports this year for the Russian concern alongside 2013 partner James Thompson and new recruit Rob Huff has spoken of a testing plan for the new car ahead of the season opener in Morocco.

The TC1 spec car, which is expected to be finished in late January/early February is slated to hit the track for its first test next month ahead of a further session alongside rivals Citroen and Honda.

"We plan to do the first tests in the middle of February on the well tried and testing venue of LADA in Magny Cours," the 24 year old told WTCCblog.hu. "At the end of February we will have another test in France, this time on the Paul Ricard circuit together with our greatest rivals: Citroen and Honda."

Kozlovskiy appeared to also confirm rumours that despite the heavy development period of the current Granta from early 2012, LADA could switch to the new Priora model for 2015.

“I have heard that the new Priora will be launched this year and I really hope we could use it,” he said, “but there is no further information coming from the team's director.”
