Honda has completed the first proper test of its 2014-spec Civic after carrying out four days of running at the Motorland Aragon circuit in Spain.
Gabriele Tarquini completed much of the on-track work with the new TC1 Civic as the JAS Motorsport-run factory squad focused mainly on data collection to enable it to work on improving performance of the car.
Team-mate Tiago Monteiro was able to spend an hour behind the wheel for his first taste of the car, while Zengo Motorsport's Norbert Michelisz was present at the test to see what the factory pair had to say about the new car.
Michelisz will also race the TC1 Civic this season alongside Proteam's Mehdi Bennani.
“The car is really fun to drive,” Tarquini said. “It's very fast in cornering, with a lot of grip thanks to the bigger tyres and the downforce. It is also sensitive to all the set up changes.
“It is a very challenging car to drive.”
Honda is due to test the car again early next month.
