Pasquale di Sabatino will return to the World Touring Car Championship grid in 2014 as the latest addition to the TC2 sub-category line-up.
The Italian drove a Chevrolet Cruze for Bamboo Engineering during part of the 2012 WTCC season and will now join owner-driver Franz Engstler in the two-man Liqui Moly Engstler BMW squad.
“Coming back to WTCC is a dream come true,” said di Sabatino, who has also scored podiums at Formula Renault 3.5 level.
“I'm very pleased to race alongside an experienced driver like Franz Engstler, I can learn a lot from him. Now I have to get used again to race after a two-year break that lasted since the 2012 WTCC event in Portimão,
di Sabatino is the third driver to be confirmed to the TC2 class for older specification WTCC cars ahead of the overhauled 2014 series opener in Morocco, alongside team mate Engslter and John Filippi in a Campos SEAT Leon. Two more Campos SEATs and a Nika Racing machine is also expected.
