Yvan Muller kept Citroen at the top of the timesheets ahead of qualifying for the opening round of the 2014 World Touring Car Championship, with the new manufacturer once again dominating.
A comfortable top three lock-out for the new C-Elysee, Muller headed up team-mates Jose Maria Lopez and Sebastien Loeb, with Tom Chilton heading up the chasing pack in fourth position in the ROAL Chevrolet Cruze.
Elsewhere, Honda's difficult start to the weekend continued with Gabriele Tarquini being collected by Gianni Morbidelli after the touring car veteran ran off and was collected when rejoining the circuit.
There were also more problems for James Thompson in the LADA after his Granta TC1 developed more problems between the practice sessions.
