Gabriele Tarquini has been forced to withdraw from the opening round of the 2014 World Touring Car Championship in Marrakech after damaging his Honda in a collision with Gianni Morbidelli.

The touring car veteran was returning to the circuit after running wide at the chicane, but was collected by Morbidelli after the Italian also got it wrong at the high-speed kink.

With both drivers already ruled out of qualifying, a damaged shell for the Civic has forced Honda to withdraw Tarquini and focus on getting his car ready for round two, to be held at Paul Ricard in just a week's time.
