Jose Maria Lopez is the early leader of the 2014 World Touring Car Championship after out-performing his multiple world championship-winning team-mates on his first outing with Citroen Racing.

The former GP2 race winner enters the series as part of Citroen's three-strong driver line-up for its first season of WTCC racing, Lopez earning his place in the team following a surprise race-winning debut in a privateer BMW during a wild-card outing in his native Argentina.

Paired with four-time WTCC champion Yvan Muller, as well as nine-time WRC champion Sebastien Loeb, Lopez upstaged both to score the first WTCC win of 2014 ahead of his team-mates.
