Sebastien Loeb and Jose Maria Lopez have been stripped of their front row positions for the second round of the 2014 FIA World Touring Car Championship at Paul Ricard after failing technical checks.

The former World Rally Champion had been due to start his and Citroen's home event from an excellent maiden pole position, but issues with the fuel cut off system would see both he and Lopez fall foul. The pair had both passed a similar test a week earlier in Morocco.

As a result, both Loeb and Lopez have been demoted to the back of the grid for both races, with team-mate Yvan Muller elevated to pole position. Gabriele Tarquini joins him on the front row, with Hugo Valente and Norbert Michelisz assuming row two.
