Citro?n has confirmed that nine-time World Rally Champion S?bastien Loeb will make a run up the now famous hillclimb at the annual Goodwood Festival of Speed.

The Frenchman, who swapped the WRC for a new challenge in the World Touring Car Championship this season, will be make a one-off return to the cockpit of a DS3 WRC, combining his hillclimb run with appearances on the equally-popular Forest Rally Stage at the 28-29 June event.

Loeb's presence underpins the 'Addicted to Winning - The Unbeatable Champions of Motor Sport' theme of the 2014 Festival, and his partnership with the Citro?n Total Abu Dhabi World Rally Team's mighty 300bhp machine is set to be one of the highlights of this year's event.

"It's very exciting for all of us at Goodwood to be welcoming S?bastien Loeb back to the Festival of Speed," event patron Lord March commented, "More than anyone, he epitomises our theme for the 2014 event."

Having claimed his first championship title in 2004, at the wheel of the Citro?n Xsara WRC, Loeb 'retired' with 78 rally victories to his name and, in ten seasons at the top of the sport, clinched a record nine drivers' titles with the French marque.

Despite calling time on his WRC career, however, Loeb shows no sign of shying away from his addiction to winning, making the switch to the WTCC and carrying on finding the top step of the podium despite being paired with four-time series champion Yvan Muller and Argentine touring car hotshot Jos? Maria L?pez.

While Loeb entertains in his former WRC machine, his C-Elys?e WTCC car will be on display at the Festival. Having been unveiled in full race trim at last year's Frankfurt Motor Show - complete with flared wheel arches, a huge front splitter and an eye-catching rear wing - the C-Elys?e has already established itself as a formidable competitor, with all three drivers at the top of the 2014 standings.
