LADA to unveil new WTCC model

LADA will reveal its new Vesta model next month, which has been designed specially to form the basis of a new WTCC entry.
LADA has announced it will reveal the car that will spearhead its future World Touring Car Championship challenge in September.

The Russian manufacturer, which returned to the series full-time in 2012 with the Granta, showed flashes of pace with the car under the previous regulations, but has struggled under the new 'TC1' format introduced for 2014.

Blaming many of its issues on the car's relatively small dimensions – which have forced it to meet regulations by over-emphasising the bodywork, which has an effect on aerodynamics and weight -, the new Vesta model, which will form the basis of its next WTCC model, has been intentionally designed to meet these requirements.

The car will be unveiled for the first time at the Moscow Motor Show in September, with production due to start in 2015.
