Camilo Echevarria will bolster the Argentinian ranks for its round of the 2014 World Touring Car Championship at the Termas de Rio Hondo circuit after penning a deal with Liqui Moly Team Engstler.

Taking part in the TC2 class for older-generation WTCC machines, Echevarria will join eponymous team owner and driver Franz Engstler and replace Pasquale di Sabatino, who will not return for the remainder of the 2014 WTCC season.

Echevarria will join WTCC leader Jose Maria Lopez in representing Argentina, the 23-year-old coming into the series having emerged as a race winner in the Turismo Carretera Pista championship.

"I am very happy for the opportunity to join the WTCC races in my home country. I am extremely motivated after Sunday's victory and I wish to pass the WTCC examen well, without making mistakes.

"It will take me some time to get used to the car, but it will help that the BMW is a rear-wheel drive car, as I have more experience with this kind of traction. I'm very much looking forward to meet the team and start practicing."
