Pepe Oriola's return to the World Touring Car Championship for the 2014 season finale in Macau will see him drive a TC1 Chevrolet Cruze in place of the injured Dusan Borkovic, it has been announced.

The Spaniard has been without a drive for the 2014 season, despite winning a race en route to ninth overall last season, but was always pencilled in for a one-off appearance with Campos Racing for the season-ending Macau event, albeit driving a SEAT Leon in the TC2 class.

However, Oriola has now been promoted to the team's full TC1 specification Chevrolet Cruze after Borkovic was ruled out by a hand injury.

The Serbian finished a career-best second last time out in Suzuka, but an off earlier in the weekend aggravated a long-term hand injury that he has chosen not to risk further around the traditionally challenging Guia street track.

Set to partner Hugo Valente in the team, though it will be Oriola's first outing in the latest specification machine, he did enjoy notable success in a Chevrolet Cruze during the second-half of 2013, including a run to second place in Macau.
