Hugo Valente, Mehdi Bennani and Norbert Michelisz were all handed post-race penalties after being involved in a number of incidents during the second WTCC race at the Marrakech street circuit.

Sebastien Loeb Racing's Bennani and Campos Racing's Valente were both reprimanded with 30-second time penalties after colliding with each other twice in race two. The penalties dropped Bennani down to 12th, while Valente slipped to ninth in the final classification.

Zengo Motorsport's Michelisz was also handed a 30-second time penalty after race stewards judged him to be at fault for a collision which took out Tom Coronel and Tiago Monteiro. The punishment dropped the Hungarian down to 11th place and outside of the points.

The 14-lap race was won by Citroen's Yvan Muller, whose team locked out the podium positions, with Sebastien Loeb and Jose Maria Lopez joining Muller on the rostrum.

As a result of the penalties Bennani is now joint-leader in the Independents' standings alongside Michelisz, both on 30 points, with Tom Chilton one point behind in third.
