Norbert Michelisz is gearing up for his home event at the Hungaroring in the World Touring Car Championship and says he hopes to use the support of the fans to challenge at the sharp end of the grid.

The Hungarian driver is aiming to put last year's disappointing results at his home round (6th and 10th) behind him and return to the rostrum with his Zengo Motorsport Honda Civic. One of Michelisz's three WTCC career wins came at the Budapest circuit and since the event joined the calendar in 2011 he has made three podium appearances in total.

The 30-year-old, who is currently ninth in the WTCC drivers standings, says he enjoys competing in front of his home crowd and feels with an updated Honda Civic he could close the gap on his Citroen rivals. Honda is set to use an new aerodynamics package at Hungaroring.

"My home race is always very special and maybe with the positive energy from the fans, some luck and better possibilities with the development parts on the car I think we will be able to fight, even for a race victory," Michelisz said.

The Zengo Motorsport driver has had a solid but unspectacular start to his 2015 WTCC season, with three points finishes in four rounds but is yet to break into the top five, largely due to the Citroen Racing dominance.
