Jose Maria Lopez and Yvan Muller come away from the seventh round of the 2014 World Touring Car Championship with a win apiece after the former battled to victory in race two at Spa.

Starting in eighth place by virtue of the reverse-grid format, Lopez picked his way through the order as Citroen displayed its sheer dominance over its rivals once again, the Argentine taking the lead with two laps remaining to power home to victory.

A fifth win of the season for the championship leader and the perfect reaction to Muller's win in race one, though the Frenchman's pole position means the advantage has been whittled down slightly to 39 points, it is mostly honours even between the pair as the series heads into the summer break.

ROAL Chevrolet's Tom Coronel led much of the race after getting the best start from third position, squeezing up the inside of pole sitter Gianni Morbidelli into La Source before getting the edge up to Eau Rouge.

The Dutchman held firm for seven laps and put up an initial staunch defence against Lopez before eventually ceding the position into Eau Rouge, with Muller following through shortly afterwards to complete the Citroen 1-2.

Coronel completed the podium, however, ahead of Tiago Monteiro, the Portuguese driver preventing Sebastien Loeb from getting past on the final lap in fourth.

Pole sitter Morbidelli faded away to sixth, ahead of Norbert Michelisz and Gabriele Tarquini, while Hugo Valente was left to complete a frustrating day in ninth place, the Frenchman hampered by circumstances that would ultimately prevent him from showing the pace that had him on a par with the Citroens at times.
