Macau: Practice 2 times

Pepe Oriola and Yvan Muller were once again in charge for the second WTCC practice session in Macau on Friday afternoon, with several cars in trouble during the 30 minute period.
The order at the top of the timesheets for Free Practice 2 in Macau was reversed from that of the morning, with Pepe Oriola getting in front of Yvan Muller by just over two tenths of a second at the end of the half hour session.

Tiago Monteiro improved to third place in the Honda, just ahead of Marc Basseng who was in front of his All-Inkl.com Munnich Motorsport SEAT team mate Rob Huff by a strong three quarters of a second.

The trick, claustrophobic Guia Circuit resulted in two red flags, the first for a high speed crash for Tom Chilton in the Solitude Esses, leaving him unhurt but bruised down the left side of his body. "I slightly clipped the outside wall and found myself shot against the inside barrier," he said. "There was nothing I could do to avoid the impact."

Charles Ng also hit the barrier at the Reservoir bend, while Marc Basseng spun at Mandarin but avoided hitting anything. The second red flag was to allow track marshalls to remove debris after Franz Engstler hit the barrier at Lisboa bend. Also in the wars was Michael Soong who hit the wall at the Melco hairpin, leaving several teams with work to do to get their cars in order before qualifying.
