After Jeroen Bleekemolen's victory in the Beijing Sprint race, his first in single seaters since 1998, A1 Team Netherlands is working towards a Feature race win this weekend at Sepang.

The renowned Malaysian heat should at least be no problem for Bleekemolen, who travelled to Malaysia straight from Dubai. In Dubai he had a strong race in the FIA GT Championship, the A1 Team Netherlands driver was leading his class at the start of the race and battled for the podium throughout the race.

"For me this is a new circuit, but that should not pose any problems," declared Bleekemolen. "I also drove in China for the first time and that went quite well. Others already know the track, that might be a bit of a disadvantage for us. I am really looking forward to this race, because in the last race we have shown that we can be one of the front runners. We have to build on that and be in a position to win a Feature race soon. As far as the conditions go, you can easily get scenes like we had in Zandvoort, with rain halfway through the race. That suits us very well, we all saw that. Whatever it will be, wet or dry, it is always good. It will be fun, with probably a lot of spectacle. It is warm here and it will be a tough race, but that is the same for everyone."

Meanwhile, Renger van der Zande will be the first one out on track for A1 Team Netherlands, driving in the Rookie session, which starts at 11.00 hours local time on Friday morning.

"It is a cool circuit," said Renger after a walking the track. "You have everything, from long straights to fast and slow corners. I hope that tomorrow during the Rookie session I will be quickest of course, but the main important thing is to collect data for the qualifying and the race. It is pretty warm and humid here, but this should not be a real problem for me, I have got two short sessions."
