Dutch-Chinese driver Ho-Pin Tung will make his A1 Grand Prix debut at Sentul this weekend, joining Team China to drive its car in Friday's rookie session in Indonesia.

The new Recaro Cup F3 champion will get two 25-minute outings as an introduction to the World Cup of Motorsport, although current incumbent Franky Cheng is expected to keep his seat for the two races which follow over the weekend.

A successful test could result in race appearances later in the season, and Tung is hopeful that something can be arranged as he believes outings in A1 Grand Prix will allow him to stake a stronger claim to become the first Chinese driver in Formula One. Having secured his F3 crown, albeit in the 'secondary' Recaro Cup competition, he has his sights set on a seat in either the World Series by Renault or GP2 for next year.
