Team Brazil got off to an encouraging start in free practice in Sentul today, as Tuka Rocha mastered the tricky hot and humid conditions to lap comfortably inside the top ten.

After setting times on the outer fringes of the top ten throughout the rookie session, the 23-year-old completed 37 laps in practice as he progressively closed the gap on pace-setter Nicolas Lapierre down to just half a second at the close. He admitted, however, that there was still much work to do if the squad was to keep up its good form throughout the weekend on the fast and wide circuit.

"It's good to be back in the car and we have improved the set-up a bit today," the former Euroseries 3000 ace commented. "We made some changes after the rookie sessions because the car was not good and we were suffering from a lot of understeer. The set-up is a bit better now but I think we went a bit too much the other way, and we still need to work on the car for tomorrow.

"I think we should be aiming to be in the top ten in tomorrow's sessions. The track is very dirty at the moment and the asphalt is coming away at the last corner which could be a problem over the weekend, but the track is still very nice and I'm enjoying racing in the hot weather."
