A pair of 'quiet' sixth place finishes at Taupo for James Hinchliffe was met with approval from the Canadian Champ Car Atlantic star, even if it has dropped them a place to ninth in the overall standings.

Putting in a solid performance throughout the weekend, Hinchcliffe never looked like threatening the upper echelons of the positions and spent much of the afternoon racing himself against the clock.

Nonetheless, sixth in both races puts six points on Canada's points tally and although that drops them behind Switzerland, the standings remain close with just eight points separate fourth to ninth

"I'd have liked to have scored a few more points," Hinchcliffe, returning from a two meeting absence, said. "I didn't want to try anything too heroic in the Sprint and settled for the final point and decent grid slot.

"We were looking really fast towards the end of the Feature race but for the most part it was a fairly quiet outing although Taupo's a physically demanding track so I was working hard on every lap!"
