Rookie aces Oliver Jarvis and Renger van der Zande set the pace in the final practice session ahead of qualifying for A1GP's Mexico City bow this weekend.

Jarvis is making his second series appearance as a race driver this weekend, while van der Zande's sprint race outing tomorrow will mark his maiden A1GP start.

In a shake-up of Friday's order, India, Brazil, the Czech Republic and Portugal all made dramatic improvements to move up the timing sheets, while habitual front-runners New Zealand and Germany languished down in a rather more uncharacteristic fourth and 11th positions respectively.

Both remain in the hunt for end-of-season honours, though a good performance for the former this weekend could see the title sewn up with two rounds still to go.

The teams must now decide on their set-up before qualifying for the sprint race, consisting of four 15-minute sessions with a five minute break between each. The grid will then be determined based on aggregate lap times.
