A1 Team Germany will aim to celebrate clinching the A1GP title in style this weekend as the 2006/07 season draws to a close at Brands Hatch.

Nico Hulkenberg ensured the title was secured in the penultimate round of the season in Shaghai, with the dominant Germans arriving at the season finale with an unassailable 23 point advantage over second placed New Zealand.

With Christian Vietoris unavailable due to other commitments, Hulkenberg will be the lone driver on duty for the team in what is set to be his final A1 appearance, and the teenager said he was looking to win to give the Geman team the perfect thank you for their efforts during the season.

"It'll be a fantastic opportunity for me to present the entire squad with an outstanding result as a way of thanking them for the excellent teamwork throughout the season," he said. "To race on such a circuit steeped in tradition is really something very special. I'm already looking forward to the enthusiastic British public, the circuit and the race."

With the title already in the back, seat holder Willi Weber said the pressure was off his driver although he added that he was hoping to see Hulkenberg add to the German win tally.

"After winning the championship, Nico now has the chance to drive without any pressure whatsoever," he said. "After dutifully winning the championship, now it's show time: I would be happy if we could bid farewell to both the fans and season with a dream result.

"Let's also not forget it is the home race for David Sears' race team that enters our car."
