France ended Great Britain's stranglehold at the head of the A1 GP timesheets at Brands Hatch after Loic Duval edged Robbie Kerr in final practice ahead of qualifying.

Having proved fastest in official practice yesterday, Shanghai winner Kerr goes into qualifying as a strong favourite for pole position, although Duval is set to run him close after edging his rival by a mere 0.037secs in the final hour of testing.

The session proved to be a close one overall with just over a second covering the top ten, Duval and Kerr leading Jonathan Summerton in third, the American continuing his strong form from yesterday.

He in turn was marginally up on former British Formula Three racers Alvaro Parente and Narain Karthikeyan for Portugal and India, while new champions Germany followed closely in sixth.

Sebastien Buemi was seventh quickest for Switzerland ahead of Malaysia's Alex Yoong, while Matt Halliday replaced Jonny Reid in the New Zealand car for the ninth fastest time. Jeroen Bleekemolen rounded out the top ten for Netherlands.
