A1GP organisers have confirmed that the series will hold a second two-day test session at Silverstone circuit in England this summer.

The test will take place on the Northamptonshire circuit's 2.3-mile International layout on 18-19 September and will be the last chance teams have to improve set-ups and finalise driver choices before the opening round at Zandvoort on 30 September.

All teams will participate, with many new driver combinations likely to be trialled. Rules state that all drives must have at least an International Grade C licence to participate.

By that point, teams will also have participated in the first official test of the pre-season on 28-29 August.

A1 Team Malaysia was fastest overall in last year's official test, with Fairuz Fauzy recording a lap of 1m 10.507s. However, the second day gave us a taste of what was to come, with A1 Team Germany's then unknown rookie, Nico Hulkenberg, topping the timesheets.

In addition, each team is allowed to arrange one additional shoot-out session for determining driver choice in the close season. Only rookie drivers are allowed to participate in such a session, which must take place on a non-A1GP circuit.
