F1 tester Narain Karthikeyan believes there is more speed to come from A1 Team India despite a strong display on the opening day of the final pre-season A1GP test session at Silverstone.

The 30-year-old recorded the second quickest time of the day on Tuesday, a quarter of a second behind pace-setter Jonny Reid - leaving Karthikeyan confident that a first podium finish could be on the cards during the coming campaign.

"I hope our test pace was representative of what we can achieve this season, it is certainly better than before," he said. "The car was very good in the morning. This was a test day so we were able to try some different things but the time was pretty good. I was not surprised. I know I am quick.

"I just need to get the package right. There is little more to come. We are talking about a couple of tenths, and not a big deal and there will be a little bit of changes. I don't think we are going to change the set-up massively but we just need to work on it to suit my driving style."
