The A1GP World Cup of Motorsport has announced a six-year partnership that will see Ferrari supply engines to the nation versus nation series from the start of next season.

The deal will see Ferrari engines power the series from the start of 2008/09 while the Italian marque will also consult on the design and manufacture of the A1GP chassis for use in the fourth season of racing.

Ferrari will also take on a similar role in a new regional single-seater series to run under the A2GP banner - which will begin testing in 2009.

"Partnering with a world-class organisation like Ferrari will officially position A1GP as one of the most significant motorsport series' in the world." A1GP chairman Tony Teixeira said.

"Ferrari will add significant value to our brand and in our opinion there is no better partner to progress the series. We will be meeting with our commercial partners over the next few weeks to discuss the multitude of exciting opportunities that this partnership presents.

"Ferrari has a global presence through its dealer network. We will be working closely with them to ensure that they are a part of every A1GP World Cup of Motorsport event."
