Despite a rather inauspicious debut in Czech Republic, Michel Jourdain Jr. will remain in the A1 Team Mexico car for the next round of the A1 Grand Prix at Sepang.

Having replaced multiple race winner Salvador Duran last time out, the former Champ Car World Series driver and current World Touring Car Championship racer, Jourdain Jr. raced on the fringes of the top ten in Brno.

Eventually securing a best of 13th position, Jourdain Jr. is determined to make the most of his improved experience in the car to score some points in Malaysia this time.

"I'm very happy and excited about going to Malaysia to race in A1GP. Malaysia is a circuit with all kind of corners... very fast, but I've heard from all the people who know the circuit that is one of the best in the world. Honestly, I am looking forward to know it,"

"I think at Brno I was improving my performance and I think we should keep improving, that's my goal for the weekend at Malaysia. Hopefully, I will be able to qualify in the Top-10 and collect points in both races."

With the chance to compete in the rookie sessions, Team Mexico president Julio Jauregui explains that he has been impressed with Jourdain Jr's early pace.

"We are very pleased with Michel's learning curve, who in a short period of time was able to adapt himself to the A1 car at Brno and that's why we have decided to call him again to represent Mexico in the A1GP The World Cup of Motorsport."

"Again, he will participate in the rookie session because we want him to have more seat time with this type of cars."
