A1 Team Switzerland has announced that F3 Euroseries racer Tom Dillmann will take on rookie duties for the fifth and sixth rounds of the season in New Zealand and Australia.

The 20-year-old, who tested the Swiss machine at Silverstone back in August, will join Neel Jani in the team at both Taupo and Sydney for his first experience of an A1GP race weekend and he said he was looking to try and help the team fight for success down under.

"I am really happy to be finally joining the team," he said. "I had an initial taste of driving in August and I am looking forward to more in the the rookie sessions.

"I will make use of my experience to best help Neel Jani and the A1 Team Switzerland on its third visit to Australia and to New Zealand even if I do not know the track and also do not know how to handle the car yet. I have followed the A1 Team Switzerland's success very closely and am looking forward to continue helping them to the front of the field."

Despite only completing 30 laps during his Silverstone test, Dillmann did enough to impress team boss Max Welti who said he was pleased to welcome the rookie into the team.

"I am hopeful that Neel Jani will be able to share his experience with Tom Dillmann and that Tom won't forget what he learned during testing in the summer," he said. "This will benefit our team and help prepare for another good weekend."
