Germany, Indonesia and Russia will today become the latest A1 Grand Prix teams to make their entrance, as they join the second pre-season test session at Paul Ricard in the south of France.

The seat holder behind A1 Team Germany is expected to be announced at an on-site press conference tomorrow [Thursday 25 August], although it is understood to be none other than Willi Weber, former F3 team owner now better known as the manager of the Schumacher brothers in Formula One. Weber is also understood to have contacted GP2 team owner David Sears about preparing his cars for A1GP.

Details of the seat holders for Indonesia and Russia will follow shortly, but the three new additions take the total number of entries to 20 ahead of next month's inaugural round, at Brands Hatch. All 20 are expected to be in action over the next three days at Ricard.

"The first shakedown, held at Silverstone at the beginning of August, saw the competitive spirit of the teams emerge as the top ten drivers all recorded fastest lap times within one second of each other," series founder Sheikh Maktoum said, "The teams have now had the opportunity to fine tune their cars and, with the addition of another five teams [Ireland and India are already confirmed as joining the test], excitement and anticipation is building for a successful test session and a competitive series."
