Newly crowned British F3 International Series champion, Alvaro Parente, driving for Portuguese pride this weekend at Brands Hatch for the A1GP World Cup of Motorsport, set the pace in the morning warm-up session on the challenging Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit.

Parente, who qualified for the weekend's A1GP Sprint race from eleventh place, had been complaining of a lack of rear end grip from his car on Saturday and his Carlin Motorsport squad had been looking a some changes to make the car more to Alvaro's liking.

No-one looked to be going for qualifying-style fast laps with two races on Sunday afternoon in prospect with first the Sprint race of 18 laps and an expected half hour duration and next the hour-long, 36 lap Feature race.

Team USA, who languished down in seventeenth place in qualifying, were right back on it with the fourth fastest time in the session, whilst Mexico and Italy also took the opportunity to put laps at the top end of the runners.
