One of the few A1 Grand Prix teams to consider giving both its nominated drivers a race at the series' opening round at Brands Hatch, Malaysia expects to follow suit this weekend, with Alex Yoong and Fairuz Fauzy both expected to compete at the Eurospeedway Lausitz.

The 14-turn, 4.5km road course will be a new challenge for the two drivers, despite Yoong having been to the facility before, but both are expecting to be able to bring home vital points as Malaysia attempts to build on its positive opening round.

"I visited Lausitz in 2003, but I was racing on the superspeedway in Champ Cars," team boss Yoong explained, "I'm looking forward to returning and experiencing the road course, although it is, obviously, a new circuit for me, and will bring new challenges. It will be important to learn the track quickly and find the limits of the car on the twists and turns, as we go into the weekend lying seventh in the World Cup, and wanting to improve on that."

Fauzy finished 13th in the sprint race at Brands Hatch, and is looking towards the German round to improve on his performance now that the GP2 Series has finished for the year.

"My goal this weekend will be to bring home some points," he admitted, "This series is focused on the competitiveness of each nation and I want to do well for Malaysia."
