Team France heads to the third round of the A1 Grand Prix series as Estoril aiming to take the championship lead from Brazil after its race-winning exploits last time out in Germany.

The team is in high spirits after storming to victory in both Lausitz races, courtesy of Nicolas Lapierre, and, with fellow GP2 frontrunner Alex Pr?mat returning for his second outing with the team after finishing in second place in the sprint race at Brands Hatch, team principal Jean-Paul Driot is hoping that the form will continue.

"After our great result in claiming pole position and winning both races in Germany, we are now aiming to for another dominant weekend in Portugal, where we hope to take the lead in the championship," he commented.

Premat, who arrived in Portugal ahead of schedule to take part in a golf competition with other A1GP drivers, is no stranger to Estoril, despite not having raced there in 2005, and hopes that his previous experience will stand him in good stead this weekend.

"I really like the track, and know it already, having won a race here last year in F3," he revealed, "It's a fast circuit, with a couple of really exciting corners and some interesting altitude changes. The chicane is difficult to master, but it's great fun to drive.

"We will have to be wary of the wind, as it can quickly change direction and upset the balance of your car completely, but I'm really looking forward to the race, where I hope I can echo Nicolas' double win in the last race."
