Team Pakistan is supporting three major charities this weekend in the latest round of the A1GP World Cup of Motorsport, following the devastating effects of the earthquake which struck South Asia two weeks ago.

The charities include the President's Earthquake Relief Fund, Disaster Emergency Committee and Mir Khalil ur Rehman Foundation (MKR Foundation), with their logos appearing on the A1 racing car from this weekend.

"A1 Team Pakistan is proud and happy to donate space on the car, to show our support for the good work of the charities," team president Arif Husain said. "The President of Pakistan has been the major driving force in helping the people of Pakistan rehabilitate and rebuild their lives which will take months and in some cases years. As a nation we have shown much courage in the face of disaster and we must now look to building a better future. Inshallah, we will do this."

The President's Earthquake Relief Fund was established by the Government to provide relief to those affected by the earthquake, with a co-ordinated effort to see the mobilisation of resources, including the supply of medicines, tents, cargo helicopters and an appeal for financial assistance in overcoming the country's worst earthquake-wrought disaster.
