Robbie Kerr has insisted that A1 Team GB are going forward - despite the fact they were outside the top six in both practice sessions Friday at Sepang.

Speaking following the day's action, Kerr, who was a second or so off Jos Verstappen, who led the way for the Netherlands, added that he is still learning the track and that those that know it were obviously at an advantage.

"We're fairly happy with the way the day went. It's a new circuit and there's a few drivers that the track isn't new to so I'm still learning," he confirmed.

"We've done quite a few laps with the car, know roughly where we are with it and are moving forward.

"In terms of position we were seventh quickest in session two but it's not representative of our pace given how old some things such as tyres are on the car.

"We're looking through data now to find more time - and looking forward to tomorrow."
