Former IRL champion Scott Dixon will be sampling the A1 Grand Prix race car this weekend in Dubai as he joins Team New Zealand as they get their hands on their second chassis.

Dixon, IRL champion in 2003 and set to be joined by 2005 champ Dan Wheldon in the Target Chip Ganassi squad in the American oval-based series, is due to be present as a guest of the Kiwi squad in Dubai.

Team NZL has said they hope Dixon will sample the second chassis in one of the twenty-minute sessions, after regular driver Matt Halliday has had a chance to shakedown the car and evaluate it against the No.1 chassis.

Should Dixon and the chassis go well, there's also a chance the twenty-five year old will also drive in the first of the one hour practice session before Halliday takes over on driving duties for the rest of the weekend.
